What is spam?

Unsolicited "junk" e-mail sent to large numbers of people to promote products or services. Sexually explicit unsolicited e-mail is called "porn spam." Also refers to inappropriate promotional or commercial postings to discussion groups or bulletin boards.

How did I get spam?

Spam is sent as e-mails to your e-mail account, normally Spammers find your e-mail address on a website or by trail and error. Be careful who you give your e-mail address to.

How do spam blockers work?

They search the e-mail for multiple receipts and spam words in the subject and body, once it is detected it is moved to a separate folder so that you can choose if its spam before deleting it.

Is all spam bad?

Most spam is bad, but then again some people like spam because of the stuff it contains!

How do I block spam?

Most e-mail providers have spam blockers built in now, even MSN does now! There is now extra software that is needed for most people. A lot of e-mail clients like Outlook or Thunderbird have junk or spam filters built into them.
