Young Leaders - ScoutHelp

The Young Leaders' Scheme is part of the Explorer Scout section.

All leaders in the Beaver Scout, Cub Scout and Scout Section who are between the ages of 14 and 18 must be members of a Young Leaders Unit. They are Explorer Scouts who choose to devote a large proportion of their time in Scouting to service in another section.

A Young Leader's Badge has been introduced, which is awarded after completion of:
  • Module A - Prepare for Take Off of the Young Leaders' Scheme.

After the successful completion of Module A from the Young Leader Training Scheme, explorers are allowed to help out at a Beaver Colony, Cub Pack or Scout Troop as a Young Leader. They have more responsibility than a Sixer or Senior Patrol Leader, but not as much responsibility as the adult leaders.
