ICT Evening

Why have an ICT evening?

A lot of groups are starting to hold ICT evenings because of the huge change in the ease of access to technology.

ICT evenings can help develop ICT skills of Scouts off all ages and can also help teach them how to be safe on the net.

ICT Staged Badge

This page will contain information about running an ICT evening for Scouts or Explorers and also some more Information on the Information Technology Staged Activity Badge

Using ICT to help you with presentations is also a good idea. ICT can help improve a presentation such as a Talk about the world scout jamboree by showing pictures and giving useful facts to the audience.

Using a projector that can be borrowed from many companies for scout groups and a laptop or PC you can make presentations more interesting and appealing to scouts and even leaders.

LAN Party

A LAN party is a temporary, sometimes spontaneous, gathering of people together with their computers, which they network together primarily for the purpose of playing multi-player computer games. These local area networks (LANs) come in various sizes, from very small (two people) to very large (more than 6,500 people). Small parties can form spontaneously, but large ones usually require a fair amount of planning and preparation on the part of the organizer. ( Sourced from [1] )
